If you are looking for a cheap way to offer a creative craft for your little one, this is definitely a great idea. It’s very open ended, which means it offers your child the ability to spur his or her imagination and get very creative. You can use it for learning letters, or just to allow your little one to make an endless amount of shapes. The great thing about open-ended play is it creates an environment for the child that supports imagination, as well as helping to promote cognitive ability and problem solving skills.
For this project you will need:
a package of colored popsicle sticks
stick on velcro
a crayon box or other similar storage container (or even just a ziploc bag)
Wanna know how easy it is? All you have to do is peel the backs off of the stick on velcro and stick it on each end of the popsicle sticks. You can also put it on both sides to allow for more shapes to be made.
I absolutely love this project for the kids, and they can help make it too! It’s amazing how something so simple can be not only educational but allow for hours of fun and creative play time.
Thanks for this great idea!
